Taizé on the Island at St. Joseph Basilica Alameda is at 8:00pm, the 4th Friday of every month January through October.* Due to the Holidays we switch to the 3rd Friday for November and December. St. Joseph Basilica is located at 1109 Chestnut Street, Alameda.
Taizé is an ecumenical, candlelit service of prayer offered in simple chant, Scripture readings, silent worship and veneration of the Cross. Brother Roger established the Taizé Community in 1940 in Taize, France as a witness to peace and reconciliation, for which our community gathers in prayer.
